Eric Kinder spoke to us about the 5-3 victory over Wrexham:

"First of all, the first half was a totally unacceptable performance, and the players know that. They realise that it wasn't acceptable. The management staff won't accept that.

It was as bad as it's been. I can't think of a Reserve game that I've had anything to do with that we've had a first half performance like that. It just looked like we weren't interested and that we couldn't care less. Whether it was the weather, the day, the performance ... I don't know.

Having said that, we should have been two up within 5 minutes. Danny Carlton scored a good goal, then he hit the bar when really he should have scored, and everything looked alright.

Then the Dan Kirkup injury probably affected everybody, although I don't understand why. It's a long time since we've seen Kirkup play a game for this club, and we desperately wanted him to stay on the pitch if he could. We knew that the injury would take 5 minutes, or even a bit longer than that, and we had to accept that, and within that 5 or 6 minutes that he was off the pitch we conceded 2 goals.

That was nothing to do with the injury, nothing to do with having ten men, because we still had a back four and a midfield three, it was just bad decisions, bad communication and bad organisation.

Dan Kirkup came back on to the pitch, and he wasn't right but he wanted to give it a go. In hindsight, he should never have come back on with a head injury, but he wanted to and that's fair enough. Having passed all the tests the doctor gave him it was the right thing to do at the time, but he never really got it going again.

It looked as though we had given in after we went 2-1 down. At  half time all three of us had a pop at them. The gaffer has come in and, with his calm manner, got his point across. Greg's slightly different to the gaffer, he came over a bit stronger, and I tried to go in between. Basically we demanded a much better performance and more commitment all round.

It was completely different in the second half. Everybody started to play their positions correctly and there were some terrific goals.

Kevin Gall helped himself to a hat-trick and he could have had a couple more as well, but to score a hat-trick at any level is a good achievement. I think all three of his goals were terrific, so well done to him.

This game was classic chalk and cheese. We have to be happy with the outcome, but the first half performance was unacceptable, and we won't accept that from anyone who plays for this club."
