Scott Dobie returned to United, the club where he started his career, in the January 2008 transfer window.

Dobie, who has 6 full Scottish International caps to his name, made over 150 appearances for United during his first spell, and became part of Cumbrian folklore on 8 May 1999 when he rose to head a Graham Anthony corner towards the roof of the Plymouth net.

The keeper parried it, of course, but only as far as a certain Mr Jimmy Glass ... and the rest, as they say, is history.

Dobie moved to West Brom in July 2001 and, just over three years later, joined Millwall.

A quick move to Nottingham Forest followed in February 2005, but the Cumbrian born forward has now returned to his roots.

A quick, strong striker, who is also happy to play on the right of midfield, his versatility has already proven to be invaluable.

Under contract until the Summer of 2010.
