MIDFIELDER COMES THROUGH UNITED V UNITED UNSCATHED
The Blues took on the Cumbrians in a 30 minutes each way football match at Brunton Park this morning with, unsurprisingly, United as the only winners.
The 1 hour game, which saw a mixture of experience and youth go head to head, was a very useful run-out for Paul Murray, who completed the full game as he continues to build up his fitness following a long term knee injury.
Homer opened the scoring for the striped contingent when he latched on to a cross from the right from Kev Gall, leaving Williams with no chance, but Karl Hawley made it all square after the break with a trademark effort from 8 yards.
The game ended all square at 1-1 which, in all honesty, was probably a fair result.
Greg Abbott will be giving us his opinion later today.
