The Football League is encouraging Carlisle United fans to have their say on who they think should win the Fan of the Year and Best Away Ground categories in the inaugural 'Football League Awards incorporating FourFourTwo's Top 50 Football League Players'.

Fans wishing to nominate a Fan of the Year or vote for the club they believe deserves the Best Away Ground accolade can visit The Football League's official website at www.football-league.co.uk or FourFourTwo's official website at www.fourfourtwo.com and follow the links to The Football League Awards.

The closing date for entries is Monday, 16 January 2006 and the winners will be announced at a gala dinner at The London Hilton on Park Lane on Sunday, 5 March 2006.

The Chairman of The Football League, Lord Mawhinney said: "Fans are the lifeblood of a football club and will play an important role in The Football League Awards. We look forward to hearing from those who wish to nominate a Fan of the Year or vote for Best Away Ground."

Haymarket Publishing's football magazine, FourFourTwo, has signed up as a partner and will announce their 'Top 50 Players In The Football League' at The Awards Dinner to coincide with the publication of its April edition.

The Awards will acknowledge examples of excellence both on and off the pitch. In addition to categories that will name The Football League's leading players and prospects, a number of awards will go to those whose efforts often go unrecognised such as the clubs' employees and fans.
