Last night, at a meeting of the shareholders of Carlisle United, the resolution to remove Kate Rowley from her office as a Director was withdrawn.

The Trust had argued that the resolution was in breach of the Injunction which is currently in place. We did not agree with that argument, and we asked the Judge to decide whether it was correct. The Judge announced on Wednesday afternoon of this week that he was not prepared to decide the point. The reason he gave, was that the proceedings came to an end on Friday of last week, and that there were no current proceedings upon which he could properly decide the issue.

Since the Judge felt unable to give a decision, we could not be absolutely sure of the position, and there was therefore no option other than to withdraw the resolution.

We are disappointed with the outcome, since it means that our ordinary shareholders have not been allowed to express their opinion by voting on the matter. However, the shareholders put forward an impromptu resolution thanking Mr Story for everything that he has done for Carlisle United, and wishing him every success for the future. That resolution was passed unanimously.
