Statement on behalf of Carlisle United:

Saturday's match against AFC Bournemouth is now critical to both teams, and we urge fans to buy their tickets as early as possible.

We will be opening the whole of the Cumberland Building Society Stand to home fans due to the expected high demand.

We very much want this to be a celebration of what has been a truly exciting season for our fans - and it is not over yet!

Whilst this is the last game of the season, we would ask both sets of fans to respect their counterparts and consider the emotions that the other fans may be experiencing. Unfortunately, on this occasion, one teams joy will almost certainly be mirrored by significant disappointment for the other. We very much want all of our fans to enjoy what will be another nail biting end to a season, but please consider the feelings of the opposition.

Ticket demand is already significantly ahead of our large crowd sales, so if you want to be there to cheer the blues on don't delay, buy now and collect your ticket early.

Finally, whilst we understand that in a moment of high excitement it can be very difficult to control your actions, we fully support the Cumbria Police statement (reproduced below) and will take appropriate action against any supporter who breaks stadium regulations.

Be there and help the blues push for promotion, but respect our opponent's fans and remember how we felt, not too long ago, when we were in their position.

Quote from Chief Inspector Julie McFee in relation to Saturday's game:

"Cumbria Police acknowledge that Saturday's game between Carlisle United and AFC Bournemouth is an important game for both clubs and want the event to be a family day enjoyed by all those attending the game.

The Police and club want supporters of both teams to feel safe and respect each other. However, any anti-social or criminal behaviour will be firmly dealt with by the police."
