Central defender Dan Wordsworth has been offered a 12-month professional contract following a particularly good season at the heart of the United Youth team defence.

Wordsworth, who has received glowing praise from the United management team, has been a rock at the back for the Cumbrian youngsters, and will now be given time to consider the offer.

Second years Matt Wood, Matt Brown and Steve Hindmarch have all been released, but will play the remaining Youth fixtures against Morecambe (away on Wednesday) and Preston North End (at home on Saturday).
