Defender Paul Reid had to leave the pitch at half time at the weekend when he found that he couldn't shake off the after effects of a knock on his ankle.

We spoke to him about it immediately after the game, and he told us: "I managed to intercept a ball on the half way line, carried it forward for a while and then it felt like the lad clipped my heel. That made me turn my ankle over and, to be honest, I knew right away that I was going to struggle to make it to the end of the game."

"The last ten minutes or so of the first half were really difficult," he admitted. "I was quite lucky that I didn't come in to contact with anyone, because I was really struggling. It's hard to put in to words just how frustrating this all is for me. I've come here, I've waited for a chance, everyone has been absolutely brilliant with me, and then this happens when I do get on to the pitch. It couldn't have turned out any worse, if we're honest. It's made even worse because of the fact that I've had to go off, and then we've gone on to get beat."

"Obviously I'm hoping that it will improve and that it won't be as bad as I fear," he said, "but anyone that knows me will know that it takes a lot to get me off the pitch. If I'm coming off, then there is a good reason and, like I said earlier, I knew this one was bad."

"I did get the chance to watch the second half," he added, "and that was really frustrating. We played much better, and I think we looked like the ones who were going to win, right up until the sending off. We're obviously all biased, but none of us felt that it should have been a red card. They then scored a killer goal, when there is no time to get back at them, and that summed up the way the day has gone for us, really.  What we have to do now is put this one behind us and make sure that we are ready to go again for Millwall."
