17-year old forward Gary Madine is enjoying life with the first team, and he played a huge part in the goal that won the game at Brunton Park on Saturday.

He told us afterwards: "I'm really enjoying this experience. I'm glad that John Ward has shown faith in me and that he has been prepared to put me in there. I just hope I can help the team, as I think I did in the game against Yeovil. It was all-out attack in the last few minutes, and I just went on there and decided to try and get involved. The goal came about through an excellent ball forward from Bridgey, and Scott was screaming at me, so I got it on my chest and played it back to him. His finish, after that, was superb."

"Like I say, this whole exeprience is really enjoyable for me," he said. "Football is my job, and I've got a lot to learn, but I know what it's about out on the pitch. I had a decent shot that nearly went in down at Orient, and it was good to be involved in the goal at the weekend, so I think I'm starting to settle and play my part. Mind you, I do try to avoid the press, if at all possible, so that's something that I know I do have to work on and get used to!"

"I do feel nervous before coming on, but I think that's a good thing," he added. "Down at the City Ground, I was unbelievably nervous because of the big crowd and the cameras, but once you get out there and touch the ball you don't really notice it all any more. You just get in to the game. I think I am starting to relax a bit more now, and I'm definitely getting used to playing with the senior players, and I just want to do as much as I can over the next few weeks. If a chance comes for me to score, then great, but it's more important that we keep winning to be honest. It doesn't matter who scores the goals, as long as someone does then that's all we can ask for."
