17-year-old midfielder Ged Dalton has been released by Carlisle United, by mutual consent, this morning.

Dalton joined the club from Scarborough last summer, but has failed to make the break through in to the first team set up, despite featuring regularly for the Youth and Reserve teams.

Manager John Ward said: "We've had a word with Ged and we've agreed on a settlement for his contract, so that he is now able to find himself another club. He's a good lad, but he wasn't going to feature for us, so it goes without saying that we wish him all the very best for the future."
