After weeks of negotiations Carlisle United and Scunthorpe United have finally agreed a deal, worth £50,000 (plus additional financial conditions) that should bring 24-year-old Leicester born right winger Cleveland Taylor to Brunton Park.

Taylor started his career as a Youth player with Bolton Wanderers and enjoyed loan spells at Exeter, Scarborough and Scunthorpe before making his stay at Glanford Park a permanent one in March 2004.

With over 125 starts for the Iron under his belt, Taylor became a huge crowd favourite, particularly with his efforts towards getting Scunthorpe promoted to the Championship last season.

Taylor, who will tie up personal terms on a two-and-a-half year contract this week, trained with his new team mates ahead of their departure to Oldham and will watch them in action from the sidelines this evening.

Discussions with the player should be completed in time for him to feature in the home game against Walsall on Saturday.

Please note - all transfers remain subject to approval from the Football League.
