westwood67Swansea's late winner at Brunton Park on Saturday was a big disappointment for all connected with the Cumbrians, and for none more than United keeper Keiren Westwood.

The big stopper, who moments after pulling a wonder save out of the bag to deny Izzy Iriekpen then had to watch as Darryl Duffy bundled it in to the back of the net, spoke to us shortly after full time on Saturday.

He told us: "It's just a huge disappointment. It's hit his chest, hit his hand and then he's knocked it in. There's not a lot more to say about it really. I wouldn't even blame the ref, but I think the linesman has got to see it. He's looking straight along the line at it, and he has to see the lad's hand come out. It was his left arm as well, the same side as he was on, so you'd have hoped he'd have got it. Unfortunately for us, he didn't."

Explaining the slow start to the game, he said: "Perhaps, at the beginning, the occasion got the better of us a little. We kept going though, and in the end we came good, and certainly by the end I think we were unlucky to be beaten to be honest. Let's make no bones about it they are a very, very good side. If they get in to the play-offs I would expect them to do well, but to show the spirit we did in the second half was fantastic. I think when we went 4-4-2 and Johann went up front, and it really changed things as well. His pace caused them no ends of trouble and he's a good player, but it's all 'what ifs' I suppose. 'Ifs and buts!' We have to look on the positives though, because we have had a great season. In the end it was nice to be involved in a game like that and involved in a season like we have had."

With 18 clean sheets to his name, and having started every League game, he explained: "I'm just happy to be playing, and happy to be doing my job. Keepers don't seem to get much credit, but it's nice that people have been complimentary about how I'm playing. I just try to take it in my stride, take it on the chin and whatever comes my way comes my way."
