PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES
We caught up with Dolly to get the post-match injury update:
Danny Livesey came off with about ten minutes to go on Saturday because his hamstring was a bit tight. After consulting with the Gaffer we thought it was more important that we showed a bit of caution, especially as they were going for the long balls over the top, and that would mean Danny having to cover a lot of ground. We didn't want him to turn his tightness in to a strain that would put him out for a couple of weeks, and we had Big Kev on the bench, so we decided to get him on to finish the game. Danny will probably resume training tomorrow and be fine for the weekend.
Joe Garner had cramp for the last 5 minutes of the game, but he's fine and has no problems for the weekend.
Simon Hackney is coming along well. He's still on the cross trainer and stepper this week, and we'll be stepping that up to some bike work next week. It will still be a couple of months or so before we get him to do some football work outside on the pitches but, as it stands, things are going really well.
Liam Atkin has had a bit of a problem with his shin, but he's back in full training this week and should be available to play some part in the Reserve game at home to Blackpool on Wednesday.
Matthew Wood hurt his ankle ligaments in the Youth game on Saturday. I expect him to be out for a couple of weeks, but we'll just see how it goes and take it from there.
That's all for now,
Keep well,
Dolly
