LATEST INJURY NEWS
Dolly takes charge of his 500th League game as Physio on Saturday.
There is a full and extremely interesting interview with the man of the moment in the Matchday Magazine this weekend, covering his time at the club and the highs and lows of being a long-serving member of the playing staff.
Here is his final injury update ahead of that fantastic landmark:
Joe Garner is coming along nicely. He has achieved full extension on his knee, and is working on a little bit of flexion. We will build him up gradually over the next few weeks and, at around the 6 week mark, we will up his rehab and introduce some more functional exercises. Things are a bit tedious and boring for him at present, but everything is going fine with no problems at all.
Jeff Smith is also coming along well. The swelling has completely gone out of the ankle, and we've started some strengthening excercises around the ankle joint. We will be upping his rehab this week, with the possibility that we may be able to get him out, and doing some jogging around the pitch, possibly at some time this week, or early next week.
Shaun Vipond has gone in to his second stage of rehab following his medial ligament injury. We have changed the angles on his knee brace from 30 to 70 degrees of flexion, and we've upped his rehab to some stepping work and some specific leg exercises to help to strengthen the knee.
Matthew Wood is back from his illness and has returned to full training with the lads. Hopefully he will have no problems and will be available for the weekend.
Matthew Brown is also doing well. The swelling is right down now, and we have actually got him out there and jogging at the moment. We'll build that up this week and, hopefully, have him available for this Saturday.
That's all for now,
Keep well,
Dolly
