INJURY NEWS FROM DOLLY
It's the regular Monday injury update from Dolly:
I have no new injuries to report from the weekend, which is good news for everyone.
Zigor Aranalde had his five stitches out after the match, with no problems. The cut has healed very well, considering that he had two sets of stitching to deal with.
Adam Bradley is progressing nicely. He's started doing some pitch and jogging work, and it's just a case of building that up over the next week or so, and getting him to do some more specific drills for his goalkeeping position. We'll do that over this week and gradually phase him in to training at some point next week.
Paul Thirlwell had his scan last Thursday, and that showed us that the injury is healing really well. It just needs another week for it to settle down. We've started some light jogging today, and we'll build that up over this week. We'll do some more specific football work with him early next week, and I hope to have him phased back in to training at some point late next week, with a view to him playing some part in the Reserve game the following week.
Matthew Wood came through the Youth Cup game last week with no major problems. He came off after 60 minutes and was feeling very tired, which is understandable after three weeks out with an ankle ligament problem. He was a little bit sore on the Thursday and Friday, so he was left out of Saturday's Youth game to give him a little more time, but we expected that. He's done a little bit more work with me today, and he'll be back in training with the lads again this week.
Gary Madine got a dead leg on Saturday. He's having a day or two with me, but he should be fine for selection if needed on Wednesday, or for the weekend.
That's all for now,
Keep well,
Dolly
