Dolly brings us his latest update:

Keiren Westwood picked up a dead thigh when he collided with Danny on Saturday, and I had to go on to the pitch and treat the pair of them. He'll stay with me for a couple of days this week, but he should be back in full training by Thursday.

David Raven got four stitches in the back of his head from the collision with one of their lads. We were fortunate, that in the position it was, I could just bandage it up to stop the bleeding. Had it happened earlier in the half he would probably have had to come off and get it stitched, because the bandage wouldn't have contained the bleeding. It was lucky that we only had 10 or 15 minutes to go, and we were able to stitch him after the game. I'll take the stitches out probably after next Saturday's match.

Ged Dalton is still coming on well. He should be starting to jog next week, and I'm happy with the way things are going.

Peter Murphy is running again. He's doing straight line work at the moment, but we'll progress that on to do a bit of stopping and starting, and turning and twisting. He hasn't kicked a ball yet, so we'll be pressing on with that as well, with a view to getting him back in to training next week. If we get him training early in the week, he may take some part in the Reserve game v Tranmere. If not, he should certainly make training with the first team later in the week.

Simon Lakeland had his X-rays done, and they were all clear, which is excellent news. The one worry with young lads is that they can pick up stress fractures in their lumber spine - mostly because they are growing. We will still proceed with a scan this Saturday, just to check that there is nothing else untoward with the discs and the ligaments around his spine, but he has started doing some CV work and some light work with me. It does seem to be more than likely that he's just had a bit of a growth spurt and everythign's stretched, which explains his stiffness and soreness. He'll probably be a week or so in getting back in to it, providing the scan results are favourable.

That's all for now,

Keep well,

Dolly
