NO NEW INJURIES
Dolly gives us his regular injury update:
There are no injuries from Saturday, which is good news, and all of those who were in training last week are available for tomorrow.
Ged Dalton is coming on well. He's about two and half weeks in to his rehab now, and we have him on the static bikes. We are doing a lot of strength work around his knee areas and he has an individual programme for that. We will gradually increase that week by week, and increase the amount of CV work he'll be doing. We are targeting around the end of September for him to get back in to full training.
The only other first team injury at present is Peter Murphy. His injury is settling down nicely. As you know, he had a scan last week, which showed no major damage. What it did reveal was that he had strained the muscle on the top of his foot, but ligament-wise the damage wasn't too bad at all. He's stepping up his activities now and I would expect him to be back in training with the lads around about the end of next week.
From the Youth team, Simon Lakeland came in from training last week with some pain in his lower back. This is prevalent in young lads of his age and we will be investigating that this week with an X-ray, and possibly a scan. We need to ascertain if there are any underlying problems. We will know a little bit more about that when we've had a look at the results.
That's all for now,
Keep well,
Dolly
