A STIFF UPPER LIP
Dolly brings us up to date ahead of the trip tp Scotland:
We have nothing major to report from the weekend, which we are pleased about.
Peter Murphy split his top lip in a challenge that involved a stray elbow. The Doc put a couple of stitches in and we'll be taking those out in about a weeks time. Other than that everyone is fine from that game.
It was hard work for them, but they're used to it by now. They are fit enough after all the work they have done. Everyone seemed to feel fine, they've all gone out training today, and we are looking forward to a good week of training up in Scotland now.
We saw what happened with Joey Barton, and it was just one of those things. It wasn't even a tackle, it was just when he was running down the wing, and that can happen. I still think it's got a massive thing to do with bladed boots, particularly in relation to where the blades are situated on the bottom of the foot. I do feel that is one of the reasons that we're seeing more of this kind of injury, but it's the players decision to wear them. If it was up to me, they wouldn't be allowed.
That's all for now,
Keep well,
Dolly
