United Boss Neil McDonald held nothing back in the local paper today as he hailed his 22-year-old number one choice for the keeper jersey, Keiren Westwood, as one of the best in League One last season.

He went on to admit that the addition of Chris Howarth, a summer signing from Bolton, would add competition for places between the sticks, but that he expected Keiren to be aiming to emulate his achievements from last season and play in every game.

The former Man City trainee kept 18 clean sheets last season, and was a consistent performer in a very tight back line.
